Dr. Rick Mooney
Dr. Richard Mooney is known in the medical community as a leader in cutting edge technologies and procedures relating to the care of women. While maintaining an active practice of his own, Dr. Mooney is extremely active as a member of the Redding community. He participates as a vital member of several committees: The Women's Services Committee, The Surgical Care Committee, Surgical Executive Committee, Continuing Medical Education Committee and the Blood Transfusion Committee. Dr. Mooney is an active staff member of Mercy Medical Center Redding and Shasta Regional Medical Center.
Dr. Richard Mooney has built a reputation on quality, excellence, and personal service. He was recently chosen as a clinical instructor and researcher for the FEMRx Corporation and their revolutionary development of the OPERA Procedure, which is an alternative for women with abnormal bleeding or fibroids.
Rick Mooney MD. obtained his undergraduate degree in Microbiology at The University of Oklahoma (OU), Norman, Oklahoma, and attended The University of Texas Medical School at Houston (UTMSH) with his MD awarded May of 1990. Dr. Mooney performed his residency at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM), Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellowship in Advanced Endoscopic Surgery, Pelvic Reconstruction and Urogynecology at The Women's Hospital of Texas, Houston. Dr. Mooney spent a year of internship at The University of Texas at Houston with an emphasis on Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Mooney is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
